MICKEY Mouse and the stars of Disney/Pixar movie Cars are revving up to bring Disney On Ice back for a second helping this year at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena, writes Digital Editor Graham Walker.
It’s an all new show – called Worlds Of Fantasy – and we have 20 tickets to be won.
Five lucky readers will get a family-of-four ticket each.
The theme of this year’s autumn show is the modern-day animated classic Cars and will feature star of the show Lightning McQueen, Mater and the rest of the crew performing high speed stunts as they race across the ice.
And with the help of Disney magic they will rev up the action by visiting other favourite characters from the world’s most famous animated studios.
The cars drive to The Little Mermaids enchanting undersea kingdom and enter the magical world of Pixie Hollow with Tinkerbell and the Disney Fairies, as they reveal the magic that lies within.
The Toys will also be back in town with heroic action when Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie and the Toy Story gang escape from the unruly tots of Sunnyside Daycare, in their most daring adventure ever.
Cars, made in 2006, is set in a world populated entirely by living cars and other vehicles, featuring the voices by Owen Wilson, Paul Newman, in his final non-documentary feature, Michael Keaton and voice cameos by many celebrities, including Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear, American chat show host Jay Leno and F1 legend Michael Schumacher.
It was nominated for two Oscars, including Best Animated Feature, and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film.
Related merchandise, including scale models of several of the cars, broke records for retail sales of merchandise based on a Disney Pixar film, with around $5 billion in sales.
A sequel, Cars 2, is currently in production and set for release on June 24.
The Disney On Ice show is at the Motorpoint Arena, for several shows, from Tuesday to Sunday, November 8 to 11.
