Staff at Sheffield Theatres are celebrating success in the national theatre awards.
Sheffield Theatres’ production Bull, by Mike Bartlett, was named best play at the awards, which celebrate regional productions throughout the UK.
The 55-minute performance is based around three employees who are waiting to learn which of them has been axed by their boss.
Sheffield Theatres’ production of hit Steel City tale The Full Monty was named best touring production.
And the best musical award went to its production of This Is My Family, which was performed in the Crucible Studio theatre over the summer.
Seasoned Welsh actress Sian Phillips, aged 80, won the best supporting role award for her performance in the comedy.
Daniel Evans, Sheffield Theatres artistic director and director of This Is My Family, said: “These are challenging times for regional theatres and the need to recognise and celebrate our work is more important than ever. These awards do just that.”
