Back on the road after the sell-out success of his month-long run at the Edinburgh Festival, the Canadian comedian brings You’re Welcome to Sheffield.

So what’s the new show about? Tom said: “It’s comedy and it’s really funny and it’s a whole new show. People always ask that question and I’m always blown away by that.

“It’s stand-up comedy. I don’t do themes. I do funny.”

Originally from British Columbia, Tom is now a full-time resident of the UK. Like most things that have happened in his life so far, the move happened by fluke.

He arrived with no plan and never left “because things are way better here than they are in Canada”.

With an easy-going nature and an appetite for adventure, Tom says that he approaches life with a carefree and positive attitude, never looking too far ahead.

In the show, he playfully explores his escalating Britishness, finding a rich source of material in the differences between the UK and his homeland, citing everything from crossing the road (jay-walking in his native Canada) to the daytime TV shows he has become so fascinated by.

The show is at the City Hall on Sunday night. Box office: at the venue, call 0114 278 9789 or go to Sheffield City Hall

Tom also performs at Barnsley Civic on May 28.
