THE face looks familiar somehow...
It should do, it belongs to Simon Hanna, son of Sheffield comic Bobby Knutt - and The Diary can reveal that he’s about to follow his dad’s lead.
Simon, who appeared in Coronation Street last year, is to star in a Sheffield pantomime.
Simon, aged 42, is to play the part of Jacob Marley’s ghost in A Christmas Carol at the Lantern Theatre in Nether Edge.
“It is a fantastic little theatre and it’s a very professional group,” said Simon who is currently working in the heaematology department at the Hallamshire Hospital.
“I was in the acting business a few years ago then slipped out of it but it’s great to be back.”
Simon has actually appeared in panto in Sheffield before.
“When I was 16 my dad asked me if I wanted to be in the pantomime in Sheffield and of course I said yes. I didn’t know he wanted me to play the part of Bertie Bassett.”
This time round Simon plays Marley as a cockney wide-boy in a modern adaptation of the Dickens classic. The panto runs from December 8 to 17. Ticket £8. Box Office 2551776 or online www.lanterntheatre.org.uk
