Stars of This Is England are appearing at a special screening of the cult film tonight at Sheffield University’s Students’ Union.
Thomas Turgoose and Andrew Shim – who play Shaun and Milky respectively in the film – will be at the event, starting at 7pm, which also includes a question and answer session with Mark Herbert, head of Warp Films.
The screening in the Film Unit cinema, which is open to the public, has been organised by Sheffield-based charity the British Federation of Film Societies and Warp Films.
BFFS will also be screening a short film from the Warp Films archive, as well as giving away prizes – one person will win a limited edition Warp 10-box set, featuring 10 of the company’s most popular films and a deluxe 206 page behind-the-scenes book.
BFFS is the national support and development organisation for film societies and community cinemas, and is based in Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter.
Locally, it supports such groups as the Magic Lantern Film Club, Handmade Cinema and Sharrow Reels, as well as more than 600 similar community cinemas based across the whole of the UK.
