While Sheffield sweltered on one of the hottest days of the year, stars of this year’s pantomime at the Lyceum got into their costumes to promote the show.
Lyceum favourite Damian Williams is back in lots of those outrageous dresses again this year in Jack and the Beanstalk as Dame Trott, after appearing as Buttons in Cinderella last year.
He said: “It’ll be nice to get back in a frock!”
He found himself in a field in Dungworth at the Our Cow Molly farm, posing alongside the cows in a fetching little pink gingham and cow print number, to mark the launch. Our Cow Molly are sponsoring the show.
Damian said he really appreciates the way that the city has taken him to its heart and can’t wait to be back in December.
‘H’ from the hit band Steps, Ian Watkins, is playing the title role of Dame Trott’s son and is looking forward to trading jokes with Damian.
He said: “I hear he goes ‘off piste’ quite a lot and puts in his own lines. I’m going to give him a run for his money!”
Other stars of the show include Pete Dunwell as King, Sarah Earnshaw as Fairy Sugarsnap, Andrew Fettes as the villain Fleshcreep and Madeleine Leslay, playing Princess Tamara.
Tickets for the show, that runs from Friday December 6 to Sunday January 5, are on sale at the Sheffield Theatres box office, by phone on 0114 249 6000 or online at sheffieldtheatres.co.uk
It’s definitely the hot ticket for the festive season!
