Comedy stars Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer have cancelled two live shows at Sheffield City Hall after Bob underwent a triple heart bypass.

The House of Fools and Shooting Stars duo have cancelled the first leg of their upcoming UK tour, 25 Years of Reeves and Mortimer – The Poignant Moments, including dates at Sheffield City Hall on Tuesday November 24 and Tuesday December 1.

A spokesperson for Bob Mortimer said: “Bob would like to thank his consultant and all the nursing staff at the hospital for looking after him so well. He now needs several weeks to fully recover, so unfortunately the first leg of the UK tour will be cancelled. Bob very much hopes to be fit and well enough to perform the second leg in January next year.”

His comedy partner, Vic Reeves said: “I’m so pleased the operation has gone well and Bob is fixed. Many thanks to the surgeon.”

Sheffield City Hall apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused and wished Bob Mortimer a speedy recovery during his period of rest and recuperation.

A spokesman said that all ticket holders should contact their point of purchase for a full refund. For more information, contact the City Hall box office.
