The Rotherham Civic Theatre is proud to announce the classic rags-to-riches story of Cinderella as the town’s pantomime for the 2015 Christmas season.
Following last year’s production, Aladdin, which welcomed over 25,000 people to the Rotherham Council owned Civic Theatre, tickets for Cinderella are now on sale.
Rotherham Theatres Manager, Mark Scott, said: “We’re hoping that the momentum of last year’s production, which ended up being one of our most successful and well received pantomimes of recent times, will make this one to remember.
“Cinderella, which for the second year will be presented by Shone Productions, will be starting Wednesday December 2 and running until Sunday January 10, and is without doubt a fan favourite.
“The story needs no introduction, but, it’s always a joy to see Cinderella’s dreams of leaving her wicked stepmother and dull life as a servant to meet a handsome prince come to life with the help of her fairy godmother.”
Cast details are yet to be finalised. However, an announcement is expected to be made in the coming months.
“Key dates are already selling fast, so make sure to secure your seats if you want to experience this festive treat,” added Mark.
“However, pantomime was originally designed as a post-Christmas treat, so, if you’re wanting to prolong the festive feeling, the show will run into January, often with hilarious results as the cast start to improvise more and more.
“I’ve no doubt that this year will be a special one for panto fans in Rotherham.”
