ABIGAIL’S Party, the classic comedy of bad manners and cringeworthy comments, comes to Doncaster Little Theatre next week before going on tour around the borough.
The theatre produces one show a year which tours the district, as part of its lottery-funded Community Development Project to bring theatre to outlying districts where access to drama is limited.
The play’s director Janet Rimmer said: “Apart from moving the action from London to Yorkshire, we are sticking to the original stage version of the play and setting it in the seventies.
She added: “Over 40 years on, this play is a classic, and it’s great to be able to bring it to a whole new audience.”
Abigail’s Party opens on Monday February 14 and runs until Saturday at the theatre, then for six nights at various community venues in Askern, Rossington, Moorends, Stainforth, Campsall, and Whitley.
