AMATEUR actress Amy Bidmead is set to direct her first play at Doncaster Little Theatre.

The 23-year-old, who has been involved with the King Street venue’s Young Lit theatre group since she was 13, will be in charge of the latest production there, called The Shape of Things.

Amy joined the Young Lit in 2000, and has acted in many productions including, recently, Girls’ Night Out and Girls’ Night Out in Ibiza.

She also appeared as the prince in Snow White.

She said directing was a huge challenge, but one that she felt ready for, having received training and support from experienced directors at the Little Theatre.

The cast for the Shape of Things includes Jonathon Jones, Rachel Cunnngham, Peter Gallacher and Hannah Coward, who are pictured rehearsing a scene from the production.

The show opens on Monday May 23 at 7.30pm and runs until Saturday May 28.
