A dance extravaganza inspired by popular musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is all set to fly into Sheffield.
Chitty, presented by the June D Gill School of Theatre Dance, will be a ‘truly scrumptious’ mix of singing, dancing and acting at The Crucible in June.
Principal June Gill said: “I’m really excited about Chitty.
“It’s full of dramatic musical routines and is absolutely ideal entertainment for all the family.
“My last production was a sell-out – two years ago we presented Wizard of Oz - and we intend to repeat that success.”
Students at the dance school, ranging in age from three to over 18, have already spent months rehearsing for the show, which will be performed on June 27 and 28 with a matinée on the Saturday.
“We have been working on the production for months now with beautiful costumes and professional lighting from The Crucible,” said June.
“The show has its own Chitty car which will be flying into The Crucible – it was handmade and is absolutely beautiful.”
The show is set to showcase the talents of the dance school pupils in a variety of different genres including ballet, tap, theatre craft, jazz and street dance.
June’s dance school has been established in Broomhill for more than 45 years.
The school is based on Caxton Road, Broomhill, and aims to offer a warm, friendly and happy learning environment where pupils are encouraged and guided to reach their full potential.
