Ben goes from The Bill to Sikes

An actor in The Bill is going from hero to villain on stage in Sheffield as he takes on the role of Bill Sikes in the musical Oliver!.

Ben Richards is known to television audiences as a series regular in The Bill, when he played Pc Nate Roberts.

He also played team captain Bruno Milligan in Footballers’ Wives, a jealous husband and bigamist.

Recent musical theatre work includes 9 to 5 and Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Ben will star in the Crucible Christmas show alongside Phil Davis from crime show Whitechapel as Fagin.

Four Yorkshire boys also have key roles in the Lionel Bart adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novel. Barnsley lad Samual Bailey and Sheffielder Jack Skilbeck Dunn play Oliver and Jack Armstrong from York and city boy Travis Caddy alternate as the Artful Dodger.
