Stories of activism in Sheffield brought to life

Have your say

Sheffield Archives is opening up its collection of activism material this spring.

‘Stories of Activism’ can be explored through a series of creative workshops with the University of Sheffield.

Visitors can view a collection of texts, images, audio clips and films from the 1960s to the present day and create their own political art.

Panni Loh, of Ignite Imaginations, which is co-ordinating the project, said: “Sheffield has a rich heritage of activism and this is a marvellous opportunity to delve into the Archives.”

Adrian Bingham from the university said: “We want to give people the opportunity to learn about, and be inspired by, the passion shown by campaigners working to change society.”

The first workshop is on Wednesday and there are more throughout April. Visit or call 0114 268 6813.
