The clang of swords on shields resounded around Conisbrough Castle as hundreds packed the 11th century landmark.
Enthusiasts from the Escafeld Medieval Society entertained visitors with a 13th century-style combat tournament featuring over a dozen knights in armour.
It followed a day of themed events at the venue which also included a living history camp, candlemaking, and archery.
Children shouted for their favourite knights as the action unfurled in front of them.
Escafeld Medieval Society is a re-enactment group based in South Yorkshire which attracts members from all over the county.
