Two Chesterfield pub manangers have raised more than £1,600 for charity.

Sarah Brook and Melanie Simpson, both managers at Yates’s, Burlington Street, raised money for Macmillan Cancer Support and Alzheimer’s Society respectively.

Sarah organised a fundraising Easter weekend and Melanie took part in a sponsored skydive - Sarah collected £629.21 and Melanie raised more than £1,000.

Jon Perkins, an area manager for the company, said: “They have far exceeded their aim of £1,000 combined and have shown real determination to raise money for the charities that mean something to them.

“A big thank you also has to go to all the generous customers at Yates’s in Chesterfield for digging in their pockets and showing their support.”
