MOVE over Andy Murray - and make way for a tennis ace of the future.

Killamarsh junior player Christian Mills, aged 11, was one of 50 young hot shots put through his paces at the Lawn Tennis Association’s national Talent ID Finals.

Christian, who attends Killamarsh Primary School, showed off his skills and said: “The drills were tough but I really enjoyed the whole day and I want to carry on playing tennis now and improving.”

Head of talent management at the Lawn Tennis Association, Andrew Lewandowski, said he had been impressed by Christian’s performance.

He added: “Christian performed really well and showed lots of ability across a number of different tasks testing qualities including athletic ability, coordination, speed and agility and a real natural talent and love for the sport.

The tennis expert added: “It was fantastic to see so many enthusiastic and talented players give it their all at the finals, which are central to our vision for British tennis.

“With the level of Lawn Tennis Association support available for junior players, and the Talent ID network that simply didn’t exist five years ago, there has never been a better time to identify and help develop talented players.”
