Wreath laid to mark anniversary of air crash

A group of Ramblers from Chesterfield, Bakewell and Grimsby laid a wreath at the site of a crash which killed 13.

The aircraft the Superfortress RB-29A Overexposed crashed on Higher Shelf Stones at Bleaklow in the Peak District on Sunday November 3, 1948.

The crash happened at 11am and the wreath was laid yesterday at 11am to pay tribute to those who lost their lives.

The small ceremony, led by Steve Brunt from Chesterfield, marked the 65th anniversary of the disaster which claimed the lives of all 13 crew members.
