Wannabe film-makers pitch their projects

Have your say

WANNABE film-makers hoping to secure backing for their projects are being invited to submit a pitch to Sheffield DocFest.

Some 65 projects will be selected, and each will be given a 20-minute spot, to pitch their film to a room full of industry bigwigs at the annual documentary festival in June.

“If you’re selected to pitch your project, you can expect meetings with some of the world’s top buyers and mentors,” said a spokesman for DocFest’s pitching project MeetMarket.

“It’s an incredible opportunity to secure backing for your work.”

Last year’s forum attracted 250 industry chiefs, representing major international broadcasters and funders. More than £27 million in deals has been arranged directly since 2006.

Submit a project, at any stage of development, at sheffdocfest.com/meetmarket by March 20.
