REAL ale enthusiasts will be heading to a Doncaster village pub next month to present the landlord with one of their quarterly accolades.
The Cross Keys in Wroot has been chosen as the District Pub of the Season for winter by members of the Campaign for Real Ale branch in Doncaster.
They have praised the quality of the Theakston’s and Black Sheep Ale on sale at the traditional village pub, which dates back to 1909.
The Cross Keys was taken over nine years ago by Barry Tonkinson.
He was previously a landlord at The Harvey Arms in Finningley and The White Bear in Doncaster town centre.
Part of the decor includes posters from a number of past performances of the village pantomime.
CAMRA members will be enjoying a drink or two there on Saturday, February 2.
They will be presenting the award certificate to Mr Tonkinson and his staff.
