Thousands donned woolly hats and gloves to brave the cold for Sheffield’s famed After Dark firework spectacular - where X Factor stars sparkled on the Real Radio stage.
The party went with the biggest of bangs as thousands of adults and children from all over Yorkshire turned out to witness the skies explode above Don Valley Bowl.

The legendary fireworks display plays host to a whopping 20,000 spectators at the stadium every year.
The Stazi family, of Woodseats, Sheffield, were first-timers at the event. Dad Ben, 29, said: “There is something for everyone, it’s great for the kids, they love the rides.”
Ben, wife Nicole, 36, and their two children, Bailey, three and Isla, eight, took to the fun fair before the big show.
It all kicked-off with an explosion of live music.
X Factor finalists wowed crowds set against the roar of an enormous bonfire.
The show included, a giant fun fair, bonfire, food stalls and a live music stage with Real Radio. Not forgetting the legendary fireworks display set off to music.
Real Radio Breakfast Show presenters, Dave Dixon and Gayle Lofthouse, hosted the party, now in its 17th year.
Sparks were flying for one pair from Heeley, Sheffield.
Ryan Davis, 28, looked on with partner Steven Dale, 34, on the night of their second anniversary.
Ryan said: “It’s my sixth time here, and our second. It’s just brilliant, the firework display they put on is the best I have ever seen.”
The elated crowds were treated to a few sets from this year’s X Factor finalists, Miss Dynamix and the handsome Joseph Whelan who drove the ladies crazy with his rocky hits.
Star competition winner, 15-year-old, Lauren Lomas pushed the plunger and set the night alight.
Lauren, of Crookes, Sheffield, said: “I am really excited - meeting Miss Dynamix and being backstage is really fun. I love it!”
