The race is on to capture one of 30 balloons released into the skies above Sheffield city centre yesterday and containing a cash prize.

The balloons were released at 4pm by Ashley Highfield, CEO of The Star’s parent company Johnston Press, from the roof of The Star building on York Street.

The launch marked the re-branding of The Star’s Media Sales Centre, one year after it opened.

Ashley said: “Each balloon contains the name of one of Sheffield Star’s best-selling sales reps.

“Anybody who finds a balloon and uses the attached code to email The Star will be entered into a free prize draw for a chance to bag £50. The rep on the winning balloon will also receive £50.”
