It had everything from contortionists to kung fu pandas.
Sheffield’s Chinese community celebrated the Chinese New Year in style on Monday night with a spectacular showcase of talent.
Girls as young as six dazzled the crowds in sequinned dresses as they performed impressive dance routines.
And audience members – both Chinese and British – cheered and gasped as young boys juggled hats while simultaneously performing breathtaking acrobatics.
Ribbon dancers, a ‘thousand-handed Buddha’ and a mind blowing ‘face changer’ also helped to make the night one to remember.
Tak Liu, of the Sheffield Chinese Community Centre, said more than 200 volunteers had spent over six months organising the event to welcome in the year of the horse.
He said: “The show has become more and more popular every year and now it has become an annual highlight to celebrate Chinese New Year. We look forward to seeing you next year.”
