THE heartbroken daughter of a South Yorkshire man killed in a factory blast has paid an emotional tribute to him.
Michael Whinfrey, 42, of Wickersley, Rotherham, died after a pressure vessel exploded at Sterecyle in Templeborough, Rotherham, ripping a gaping hole in the side of the industrial unit on Tuesday.
He was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary but later died from the extent of his injuries.
His best friend Peter Davis, 51, of Stead Lane, Hoyland Common, was seriously injured in the blast.
One of Mr Whinfrey's three daughters, Lindsey, wrote on a website: "Rest in peace Daddy, we all love and miss you so much.
"You were the most kindest and generous person we ever knew, you would do anything for anyone.
"You were the best dad, husband, grandfather, uncle, brother anybody could have wished for.
"We are all still in shock and cannot take in that this has happened to you, but we are all trying our best to stay strong for each other."
