Town plans Xmas treat

It’s still summer but the volunteers of the Tickhill Together Group are already busy planning their Christmas shopping event.

New chairman Eileen Davies and secretary Janice Birkinshaw have selected Thursday, November 24, as the date for this year’s big late night opening extravaganza.

The team is already lining up the entertainment for the evening and stallholders are being encouraged to book their places early.

Mayor of Tickhill, Raymond Hill, has again been asked to switch on the lights of the giant communal Christmas tree put up by the town council on the Buttercross island.

All of the town’s shops will be open, Father Christmas will be in his grotto, there will be fun and games for children and refreshments will be served in the Parish Room.
