Six Barnsley College students are set to be stagestruck after enjoying a spell of work experience at the town’s Civic Theatre.

The live events students will work there for two days each, gaining experience setting up for shows and controlling lighting and sound.

The theatre’s technical manager Huw Williams first met with the group to talk them through the shows hosted at the theatre and show them the equipment that they use.

He said: “We’re really glad to be working with Barnsley College students. This is a great partnership which is mutually beneficial to the theatre and the college.”

Tutor Tom Flanagan added: “It’s great to establish industry links with The Civic. It’s important for the students to gain work experience in live events.”
