WEIRD and wonderful characters from the world of children’s literature will be brought to life on stage by young people.

Steps Productions, a theatre group for youngsters aged seven to 19 in Rotherham, is adding the final preparations to its latest show - Seussical the Musical.

The production will be packed with musical numbers and features favourites from Dr Seuss’s celebrated children’s books, including The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant and The Grinch. It has been directed by 21-year-old Ash White.

He said: “Rehearsals are going great and we are looking forward to returning to the Civic Theatre for this show.”

Seussical the Musical is at Rotherham Civic Theatre from Monday, June 18 until Thursday, June 21.

Tickets cost £10 and are available from the box office.
