Takeaway Test: Abdul’s

Have your say

Ecclesall Road, Sheffield.

Having lived in Sheffield for 18 months I was yet to find an Indian takeaway that I would confidently recommend to others.

Abdul’s on Ecclesall Road was next on my list to fight for the title.

Ringing in our order, the staff member was exceptionally friendly and informed me I could collect in 15 minutes. Upon arrival I had to wait an extra 10, but it was worth it.

Granted it’s hard to get wrong, but the pickle tray hit the spot for starters accompanied by piping hot onion bhajis, with an exotic side salad.

Mains were flavourful, authentic and aromatic. Both the lamb balti and chicken tandoori masala boasted thick sauces and plenty of meat . We also had light and fluffy tandoori garlic naan and pilau rice, which brought the total to £20.65.

I’ve finally found an Indian takeaway I would highly recommend.
