A Sheffield supper club is to hold a festive fundraising evening this Friday - offering a welcome change from the traditional turkey dinner.
Blend is holding the event at Millennium Hall, part of the Polish Catholic Centre on Ecclesall Road, beginning at 7.30pm.
The menu features roast venison, salt baked celeriac and Turkish orange and almond cake, and is open to the public.
Blend’s aim is to bring people together through food, teaching them cookery skills and reducing social isolation.
It received start-up funding from Hallam Student Union and is now going from strength to strength, hosting monthly supper nights and a range of community food events.
Cash raised from the Friday feast will help to put on a volunteer celebration evening being planned for February.
It will acknowledge and honour some of Sheffield’s most dedicated volunteers, representing organisations from across the city.
Blend is encouraging charities and local organisations to nominate volunteers who have made an outstanding contribution.
