EXCELLENCE in art attracted more than 1,000 visitors to an end of term exhibition held at Barnsley College.

The Big O Art Show featured works from students on creative arts, design, graphics, fashion and textile courses. Art and design students even created their own two metre high Olympic flame – inspired by torches throughout the ages.

The college’s director of art Josie Whiteley said: “Young and old came in to see what our talented young people had created. Everyone said they were very impressed.”

Special guest Fergus Justice-Mills, chief executive at The Civic, said the students’ achievements were ‘inspirational’ and a great credit to the college.
