A festival showcasing the talents of street entertainers is to be held in Sheffield city centre.

The Moor will host the Street Life event on September 13 and 14, with some of the UK’s top street entertainers expected to take part fresh from performing at the renowned Edinburgh Festival - the largest arts festival in the world.

Award-winning performer Richard Garaghty, who performs on a six-foot unicycle; Pete Dobbing, who juggles knives while balancing on a ladder; Steve Faulkner, who will wow crowds by escaping from a straightjacket and the Van Dunk Brothers, who are a synchronised swimming team, are among those lined up to perform in Sheffield.

Sandra Barley, Centre Liaison Manager for The Moor, said: “We’ve always supported talented street entertainers on The Moor and we have had some impressive acts over recent years.

“However, Street Life allows them to take centre stage, as it is a celebration of the amazing array of talent we have around the UK.”

The festival starts on Saturday, 13th September at 11.30am, with the last act finishing at 5.15pm.

The following day the first act is set to take to the street at noon and the event is due to finish at 4pm.
