THERE might have been only one winner - but that didn’t stop a whole host of X Factor stars from exploding on to the Sheffield Arena stage in a blaze of glory.
It was strobe lights, camera, action for the acts from last year’s live finals of the ITV talent show as they strutted their stuff on their UK-wide tour.
Thousands of screaming fans flocked to the Motorpoint Arena to welcome Rylan Clark, Ella Henderson, boyband District 3 and winner James Arthur.
Grasping his acoustic guitar, husky-voiced James treated crowds to a rendition of his number one single Impossible, along with a cover of Adele’s Hometown Glory.
Dressed in his usual flamboyant attire, runner-up Rylan whipped the crowd into a frenzy with a rendition of Gangnam Style.
Ella put the male-dominated line-up firmly in its place by taking to the piano for her boot camp audition song, Believe by Cher.
Dressed in a glittering dress, she dazzled the audience as she said: “Sheffield is the closest arena on this tour to my home in Grimsby.
“It’s nice to be up north again with my northerners.”
One act notable by her absence was Sheffield’s own Lucy Spraggan, from Stannington, who was forced to pull out of the competition last October due to illness.
After Rylan took to Twitter to say how much he wished she was there, Lucy replied, ‘I’m in London! But smash it and I love you!’
