THE boss of Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium has been headhunted for a new role which will see him opening venues across the globe.
Shane Chalmers will leave his role as chief executive of the Stadium Management Company, the organisation responsible for the running the venue, at the end of July.
He will take up a role with AEG, Europe, where he will be responsible for opening and managing new sporting and concert venues, initially across Europe.
Mr Chalmers said: “I am proud of what we’ve achieved at the Keepmoat Stadium.
“Highlights to me include our relationships with the Football Association and Rugby Football League, welcoming Elton John to the venue and the Doncaster Community Sports Awards which we created to celebrate grassroots sporting achievements across the borough.
“My last day at the stadium will be July 30 when we welcome Westlife to Doncaster – this will be a great event to go out with.”
