Spelling their way to success

Have your say

MULTI-LINGUAL youngsters from Sheffield have reached the national final of a foreign languages spelling competition.

Sheffield High School pupils Teresa Snook, who speaks German, and Spanish student Megan Tolley will take on fellow year seven pupils from across the country.

In the Foreign Language Spelling Bee, which is a memory test and language competition, pupils have one minute to translate and spell aloud as many words as they can from a list in French, German or Spanish.

Teresa and Megan won class, school and regional heats to get through to the final in Cambridge on July 6 - beating more than 26,000 other children who competed nationwide.
