Songbird Jess takes to Britain's Got Talent stage

IT'S a big week for Sheffield songbird Jessica Hobson...

The 19-year-old will appear before judges in Britain's Got Talent in Manchester after wowing the selection panel in the non-televised stage.

And Jess, from Killamarsh, will take to the stage in front of thousands at the O2 Arena on Saturday, where she is one of 20 singers hoping to lift the Open Mic crown.

Jess, who has completed a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts, said: "I'm absolutely terrified.

"But at least my boyfriend Ricky will be there to cheer me on. He's coming with me on the train to carry my piano."

Jess, who sings and plays piano, is urging people to vote for her by texting open63 to 86222.

Jess, daughter of boxing promoter Dennis Hobson, will sing one of her compositions entitled You Are The One and a version of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean.

She said: "I've never written my own song before so that was quite daunting. I hope it goes down well with the judges. It's quite scary when you think about it, but at least I will have had a taste at Britain's Got Talent."
