FANS flocked to a revamped Sheffield store for a chance to meet a soap star.

Emmerdale actress Charlotte Bellamy, who plays Laurel Thomas in the hit ITV show, was guest of honour at the reopening of the O2 mobile phone store in Crystal Peaks shopping centre.

Lengthy queues built up as fans queued to meet the star, who signed autographs and posed for pictures, as well as cutting a ribbon to officially reopen the store.

Charlotte, aged 39, said: “Everyone has been so nice and friendly. It’s nice to meet the people of Sheffield.”

A children’s entertainer was also on hand as O2 celebrated the store’s £250,000 revamp.

Nad Asghar, who has been store manager for about five years, said: “We’ve had a complete refit. We’re one of the flagship stores.”

He added: “The day was brilliant, one of our best store openings. Charlotte was brilliant.”
