Sites named for blue plaques

TWELVE more buildings connected to people of historical interest are being considered for the next round of Derbyshire’s blue plaques scheme.

Buildings nominated include sites connected to sweet-maker George Bassett, in Chesterfield; Ann Greaves reputed inventor of the Bakewell Pudding; World War One hero Frederick Greaves, Killamarsh; razor blade magnate and philanthropist George Herbert Lawrence, Hathersage; spy master Maurice Oldfield, Over Haddon.
