Youngsters from a Sheffield community project were given the chance to prove they could be the movie moguls of the future.
A team of 10 children from Broomhill’s Buzz Youth Group ran The University of Sheffield students’ union cinema for a day. And the film they chose to screen for the public was family favourite fantasy adventure The Last Airbender.
The project for the team of nine and 10-year-olds was co-ordinated by the Students’ Union Film Unit in collaboration with Sheffield Volunteering and the Sheffield University Enterprise Zone.
Film Unit spokesman Aleks Loesch said: “The scheme hopes to introduce them not only to the inner workings of a cinema but also to the structure and processes involved in running a business.”
