A University of Sheffield students’ union music festival has raised more than £1,000 for a city young people’s charity.

The Contours Festival was organised by a team of more than 40 student volunteers and held at five venues around the union.

With audiences in excess of 200, the event raised a final total of £1,049 for Sheffield Young Carers, the charity that provides the city’s young carers with much-needed breaks as well as the chance to make friends and take part in fun activities, along with all the support and advice they need to feel more confident and capable of carrying out their caring roles.
