TWO third-year Sheffield University students are preparing to take to the water in a gruelling charity challenge.
Medic Toby Morris, of Broomhill, and civil engineering student Toby Balaam, of Crookes, will attempt to travel 125 miles along the River Thames in a pedalo.
The 21-year-olds will try to complete the challenge within nine days of setting off from Oxfordshire on Friday, August 17, raising cash for the Army Benevolent Fund and Action Against Hunger.
Mr Morris said: “We decided we’d like to do a large fundraising event for charity and decided using a pedalo to cover a large distance would be ideal. Our thinking is it is novel, but not ridiculous; fun, yet still a challenge.”
“We’ve both been trying to get to the gym as much as possible - doing at least one hour of cycling every day, which is getting tiring.”
