Television presenters from Sheffield will be lacing up their trainers to take part in a charity event.
Charlie Webster, best known for her work on Sky Sports, and children’s television presenter Richard McCourt will stride out for the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk, in Rother Valley Country Park on Saturday, October 11.
Charlie, who is walking in memory of her grandma, has been involved with the charity since 2013 and has become an active supporter, training to become a dementia friend champion.
The former Tapton School pupil said: “‘Alzheimer’s Society is close to my heart. It helps draw attention to the condition and bring it to the public eye.”
Richard, best known as one half of the comedy duo Dick and Dom, is walking for his mum, Helen.
He said: “My mum was 58 when we noticed she was becoming confused and making a few mistakes, so she went to the GP and was diagnosed with Pick’s disease.
“She passed away six years later, so my family knows as much as anyone what it’s like to look after someone with dementia.”
