BUDDING Sheffield artist Chloe Thomas has made her mark on the city’s nightclub scene by painting an eight by 10 feet mural on a wall in The Leadmill.
The 18-year-old, from Stannington, designed and painted the Legends of Sheffield artwork, which features famous faces including Jessica Ennis, Jarvis Cocker, Richard Hawley and Alex Turner.
Landmarks including the Town Hall and Winter Gardens are included in the Legends Mural, along with Sheffield’s famous seven hills.
Musicians who have performed at The Leadmill, such as Lily Allen and Paul Weller, have also been painted on to the piece.
It took Chloe, a sixth form student at King Edward VII School, Broomhill, three weeks to paint the mural.
Chloe said: “I saw that the Leadmill was looking for someone to paint a mural over the summer so I put some designs together and sent them off and they really liked them.
“Art is something I have always loved and having the chance to showcase my skills was a great opportunity.
“I hope the mural will be there for a long time and that lots of people get to see it. I love Sheffield and think that the mural represents most of the things the city is famous for.
“I took inspiration from covers of album and some famous places in Sheffield. I can’t wait to get stuck into my next project.”
Chloe officially opened the Legends Mural at a live art event she organised at The Leadmill, attended by about 40 people.
Guests drew their favourite thing about Sheffield as part of a competition, live artists showcased their skills and Chloe added the finishing touches to the painting.
