Final preparations are under way as a Sheffield museum prepares to take its annual step back in time for Christmas.

Thousands of people are set to flock to the Victorian Christmas Market when it returns to Kelham Island Museum for the 21st time on the weekend of November 30 and December 1.

A spokesman said: “Enjoy festive family entertainment and a warm Dickensian welcome.

“Gather under the gaslamps as our heartwarming Dickensian folk relive the magical world of Dickens at Christmas.”

Attractions at the event include a fairground, performers’ stage, brass bands, choirs and carollers.

More than 120 stalls will be set up selling ‘Sheffield-made’ products and festive foods. There will also be a Christmas shop.

Children will be able to meet Father Christmas and see his reindeer.

The market is open from 10am to 7pm on the Saturday and 10am to 5pm on the Sunday. Admission is £6 for adults and free for children.
