Preparations are well under way for the latest pantomime show to be staged by young people in Crosspool.

The Stephen Hill Panto had its first run 48 years ago in 1969 - and for 2016 organisers are branching out from the familiar titles by putting on a production of The Little Mermaid.

The cast of over 30 young people, aged from eight to 18, have been learning their lines, songs and choreography since October.

Performances take place at the Beacon Methodist Church on Manchester Road from February 10 to 13 at 7.30pm nightly, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

Tickets cost £5, or £4 for children of Year Six age and under. Visit www.jumblebee.co.uk/stephenhill-littlemermaid or call Bob Hodges on 0114 230 3207 to book.
