SHEFFIELD Olympic hero Jessica Ennis is being immortalised on the cover of The Beano as ‘Ennis the Menace’.

The heptathlon gold medal winner is the star of a special edition of the famous comic celebrating the success of British athletes at London 2012.

Jess is featured taking part in the ‘Menace Heptathlon’.

Publisher DC Thompson said in a statement: “Just when she thought her golden summer couldn’t get any better...”

The special issue will be available in shops today.

Jess’ latest accolade comes days after she was welcomed back to her home city of Sheffield by 20,000 cheering fans.

Former King Ecgbert schoolgirl Jess, who lived in Millhouses with fiance Andy Hill, pledged her future to her home city.

She said at her homecoming: “This is a brilliant city. We have great facilities and such friendly people.”
