SHEFFIELD College student Jake Cook has clinched the opportunity of a lifetime - carrying the Olympic Games torch as part of the national relay this summer.

The 17-year-old is studying for a sport and exercise science qualification at Norton College and wants to train as a PE teacher or physiotherapist.

He was selected for the torch relay because of the voluntary sports coaching he does at primary schools.

Jake said: “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I feel really lucky.

“I love sport and am really enjoying the course because it is so varied, covering sport as well as sports massage, anatomy and psychology.”
