Talented members of a the Beighton Knit & Natter group are using their handiwork to help others.

The ladies meet at Beighton Lifestyle Centre in Sheffield every week to craft various textiles while catching up with one another.

Through its latest project the group is knitting blankets for amputees from the Yorkshire Regiment based at Catterick.

And to support the cause the Beighton Villages Development Trust has given the Knit & Natter ladies a £100 donation towards wool.

Member Margaret Roper said: “We have made quite a few blankets over the past few weeks and will keep going until the wool runs out.”
