A Sheffield school is going into 2015 with a major expansion project to meet increasing demand.

Westbourne in Broomhill, a co-educational independent school for three to 16-year-olds, is to open a new building in Westbourne Road, creating seven new classrooms for use by both senior and junior school pupils.

The new year will also see an expansion of the school’s pre-school facilities, originally opened by top actor and former Westbourne pupil Dominic West in January 2013.

“One of the main reasons we went ahead with the pre-school was because we had received so many requests from parents,” said headteacher John Hicks.

“Two years later, we are having to respond again to demand.”
