Sheffield groups awarded cash grants to fund projects

Three projects to improve community spaces in Sheffield have received a funding boost from The Veolia Environmental Trust.

Heeley Parish Church on Gleadless Road has been awarded £48,302 to upgrade the kitchen and toilet facilities.

A grant of £25,375 has been awarded to Park Community Action to refurbish the Park Centre on Samson Street, Sheffield and the Christian Centre, on Cedar Road, has received £21,000 to improve the building’s energy-efficiency. A new boiler and windows will be installed.

The Executive Director of The Veolia Environmental Trust, Paul Taylor, said: “We are pleased to be able to help these important projects.

“We look forward to seeing the work start and the improved community spaces take shape.”
