Sheffield gets radio station

Have your say

A NEW radio station is serving its listeners in Sheffield.

Steel City Radio has been set up to offer people a diverse selection of easily accessible programmes.

The volunteer-run station is also devoted to a philosophy of equality in rights to all.

Producers say they are doing their part to give everyone locally and globally the opportunity to take part in a real, family-like radio station.

Roles include show presenting, volunteering, or just supporting presenters by listening to them.

The station, which replaces the old FM-broadcast Burngreave Community Radio, is currently available online.
