Sheffield entertainer Ricky K has won through to the live semi-finals of hit TV talent show Britain’s Got Talent.
Just 45 acts remain from the thousands who applied and the hundreds who auditioned – and they will battle it out for the prize of £250,000 and a spot at the Royal Variety Performance.
And 33-year-old Ricky, from Mosborough, is one of those who will perform live across five nights this week bidding for a place in the final on Saturday, June 7, and the first prize.
Ricky said on Twitter: “I’m overwhelmed. Thank you so much for your kind Tweets and support. Here we go.”
Ricky, real name RIchard Calow, won his place in the semi-finals after impressing the judging panel with a comedy mime routine.
He entered BGT after being persuaded by his singer girlfriend, Clare Jones, aged 28.
A week after attending an open audition in London, he was invited to try out in front of the famous judging panel of comedian David Walliams, actress Amanda Holden, singer Alesha Dixon and music mogul Simon Cowell in Birmingham, where he impressed enough to earn a place on the live shows.
The Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals are on ITV1 tomorrow, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7.30pm and Saturday at 7pm,
